Bio:

Dr. Milan Meloun graduated in physical chemistry from Purkyne University, Brno, Czech Republic, in 1965. In 1973 he obtained Ph.D., in 1975 RNDr in Chemometrics at Charles University, Prague, in 1990 D.Sc., in 1990 Assoc.Prof., since 1995 He is serving as a Professor of Analytical Chemistry and Chemometrics. He has more than about 40 years of experience in Instrumental Methods of Analytical Chemistry and Chemometrics. He is Secretary of the Chemometrics Section of the Czechoslovak Chemical Society. From 1979-1981, he was a visiting professor at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, and from 1987-1989 gave courses of Chemometrics at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, The Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. Dr. Milan has Published over 150 papers, 15 books and 9 textbooks and over 200 lectures at scientific conferences. His research interests lie in a computer-assisted interpretation of solution composition and Complex forming equilibria and regression analysis of potentiometric, spectrophotometric and extraction data. He did a critical survey on detailed solution of 50 analytical equilibria problems is in book M. Meloun, J. Havel, E. Högfeldt: Computation of Solution Equilibria, Ellis Horwood, Chichester 1988. Dr. Milan has developed statistical software for Chemometrics and demonstrated on 1250 solved problems in two volumes textbook M. Meloun, J. Militkı, M. Forina: Chemometrics for Analytical Chemistry, Ellis Horwood Chichester, 1992 and 1994 and M. Meloun, J. Militkı: Stastical Data Analysis, A Practical Guide with 1250 exercises and answer key on CD, Woodhead Publishing India PVT, LTD, New Delhi, Cambridge, Philadelphia 2011.
