Bio:
Dr. Shepherd has been in the environmental movement for over 20 years helping to protect the air we breathe, the water we drink, the land that sustains us and the natural and biological resources we depend on. He has worked to implement environmentally sustainable programs as a government employee and for several international fortune 500 companies. When community leaders or senior managers asked him, how build a more sustainable city or more environmentally responsible company, he pointed to a very simple, but little used concept: transparency. Without transparency, we often wind up focused on the smaller issues, missing the bigger picture solutions. With this simple concept he has successfully turned companies into focused environmental stewards and helped community environmental groups work smarter to achieve their goal protecting and preserving our natural resources.
