Bio:
Miss. Giorgia Caruso is currently a contract researcher in Food Microbiology at Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale, Palermo. At present, she is also attending a post graduate Specialization course in Clinical Microbiology at the Policlinico “P. Giaccone” Hospital, University of Palermo, Italy. She obtained her Master’s Degree in 2012 from University of Lecce, Italy. She started her career in Food Science as a researcher, focusing on foodborne pathogens (Shiga-toxin producing E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria) and food technology (shelf life extension techniques, food irradiation). She has contributed as a reviewer for some journals, and has different publications on Springer Briefs in Chemistry of Foods, Food Packaging Bulletin and other food-related journals.
