Bio:
Dr. Fabio obtained his Bachelor in Science Degree in Chemistry in 2008 and last year he concluded his Master’s Degree in Microbiology with emphasis in Bacteriology both at the Universidad de Costa Rica. He have worked for five years in the Universidad de Costa Rica at Animal Nutrition Research Centre as a researcher and feed analysis application chemist. He usually impart lectures for Agronomical Science students regarding analytical techniques in mycotoxin determination and Food Safety lectures for Zootechnics students. He has published several works regarding tetracycline analysis in feed and aquaculture sediment. His current research are regarding qualitative and quantitative presence of microbiological and chemical contaminants in foods, animal feed, and their raw materials. He has also worked in antibiotic resistant bacteria and pathogens such as Salmonella isolated from feed. Currently, he is a regular member of the American Society for Microbiology and a Student/Post-doctoral member of the American Chemical Society. He has also participated in peer review processes within the International Journal of Environmental Analytical Chemistry.
